Passengers flying from
London City Airport next month will be able to take advantage of a host of new features designed to improve the customer experience.
The hub has been undergoing redevelopment work since last summer to build new parking stands on the east side to accommodate extra planes and add more gate lounges.
Meanwhile, the main departure
lounge will boast 250 extra seats, better retail facilities at WH Smith and Nuance, and a brand new relaxation facility featuring live sports screens and high-speed internet access points, with free Wi-Fi also available.
A new concept bar will also open at the end of May, while passengers will be able to check in quicker by using one of 12 new common use self-service (CUSS)
kiosks.
"The majority of passengers at London City Airport are frequent fliers who will appreciate the timesaving that the CUSS technology offers," commented Melanie Burnley, general manager of customer services and security at London City Airport.
"By speeding up the overall time spent at the airport, business travellers are able to commute with further ease to their final destination."
British Airways recently launched new
flights to Nice from London City Airport.
