Head to Oslo for Norwegian Wood

Head to Oslo for Norwegian Wood
Looking for an alternative to this summer's UK festivals? Why not fly to Oslo and check out the popular Norwegian Wood rock festival?

Taking place at Frognerbadet near the Vigeland Sculpture Park between June 12th and 15th, this event has seen the likes of Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Suede, Tori Amos, Teenage Fanclub and Bob Dylan travel to Oslo to entertain the festival crowd since it was founded in 1992.

This year will bring headline performances from Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Madrugada and Alanis Morissette, as well as sets from Dinosaur Jr, Jimmy Eat World, Rufus Wainwright and Paramore.

Visitors to Oslo can also check out the best of the local musical talent at the Underwood stage and perhaps spot some stars of the future.

There is much to see in Oslo, so it's worth fitting in some sightseeing around the festival. The Munch Museum displays the work of celebrated artist Edvard Munch and numerous other facilities explore the city's Viking heritage, while Akershus Castle is also worth a look for architecture lovers.

Check out the Norwegian Wood website for more information.
