Big names to play Malta festival

A one-day music festival in Malta is set to be headlined by the likes of The Kooks, OneRepublic, N*E*R*D and Enrique Iglesias, it has been revealed.

The Isle of MTV event will take place on June 25th in Il-Fosos Square in Floriana, with 40,000 people expected to attend.

Previous years have seen acts such as Snoop Dogg, The Chemical Brothers, Shaggy, Garbage, The Black Eyed Peas, Jazzy Jeff, Gorillaz and Morcheeba play at the festival.

The event will close Malta Music Week, which starts on June 20th and comprises a host of musical performances and DJ sets across Malta.

"Isle of MTV Malta was a fabulous event last year and I'm looking forward to sharing my music with MTV's viewers and with Malta," Iglesias commented.

Malta offers a range of other attractions for holidaymakers, including historical sights such as temples, palaces, cathedrals and forts, according to the Malta Tourism Authority.
