Singapore Airlines has announced that it is to deploy another
Airbus A380 on its route between
Heathrow Airport and
Singapore.
The massive plane will come into service on the route on July 16th and will increase the number of flights taking place between the two destinations from seven to 11 per week.
Singapore Airlines first began services between
London and
Singapore with the A380 in March. It launched its first A380 flight from
Tokyo last week.
"The deployment of another A380 on this route will cater to continual strong demand from customers travelling between Singapore and London," commented Huang Cheng Eng of Singapore Airlines.
Between July 31st and August 9th, the A380 will be temporarily taken off the London-Singapore schedule to be used on routes to
Beijing to meet higher demand during the
Olympics.
The A380 aircraft is the biggest passenger plane in the world and is capable of seating up to 525 people across its two decks.
