Austrian Airlines goes paperless
Austrian Airlines has announced that it will implement 100 per cent e-ticketing from June 1st.

The carrier, which offers a number of flights from London to Vienna and Innsbruck, said that the etix scheme will mean that all services to its 130 destinations will no longer be subject to paper tickets.

Passengers will need a Miles & More card, photo card or credit card number to use for personal identification purposes.

Austrian Airlines chief operations officer Dr Peter Malanik said the announcement represented an "absolutely crucial milestone" for the carrier.

"With etix, our customers can save themselves time and money, as well as using services such as web check-in, with its boarding pass printout function," he remarked.

Austrian Airlines was recently named one of the best scheduled European airlines in a reader survey conducted by Capital magazine, coming joint first with Lufthansa and Swiss.
