Eastern Airways has announced that it is to increase its flights from
Southampton to
Angers Loire in time for the Le Mans 24-Hour Race.
Angers Loire is some 46 miles from Le Mans. Eastern Airways said that it will fly to the French airport four times a week from June 6th over the summer period.
Flights will take off at 12:00 BST on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, landing in Angers Loire at 14:25 local time. The return leg will depart at 14:55 local time, arriving in Southampton at 15:20 BST.
"Our timely introduction of a Friday service from Southampton to Angers Loire is initially aimed at motorsport enthusiasts visiting [the] Le Mans spectacular weekend event," commented Chris Holliday, chief operating officer at Eastern Airways.
The Le Mans 24-Hour Race takes place on June 14th and 15th after a test day and several qualifying sessions.
