Bmibaby, a subsidiary of
bmi, has announced the first part of its schedule of winter
flights from Birmingham Airport.
The carrier will offer off-peak access to a number of popular destinations in the Mediterranean and
skiing hotspots.
Both
Malaga and
Alicante will be served by four flights a week, while
Murcia, another Spanish hotspot, will see two services.
The city of
Faro in
the Algarve will see one bmibaby flight from Birmingham every week, while
Palma will receive two weekly services.
Skiing enthusiasts will be able to access eight connections every week to
Geneva in
Switzerland.
Announcing the flights, bmibaby managing director Crawford Rix said: "Sun lovers and holiday home owners will benefit from the frequent flights to top winter sun destinations such as Malaga, Alicante and Murcia. Flights to Geneva are also back for winter, providing a gateway to top European ski and snowboarding resorts."
Birmingham airport handled some 877,232 passengers in May, breaking all previous records for the month.
