Eastern Airways was the most punctual scheduled airline in the UK in the first quarter of the year, according to the latest figures.
Flightontime.info based its research on Civil Aviation Authority statistics covering the UK's major gateways, including
Heathrow Airport,
Gatwick Airport and
Manchester Airport.
Eastern Airways was found to operate 89 per cent of its flights within 15 minutes of their planned time between January and March, with an average delay of less than seven minutes.
Air Berlin was a close second, also with an average delay of less than seven minutes and 86 per cent of its services departing or arriving punctually.
Other scheduled carriers to make the top ten included
bmi regional,
Brussels Airlines and
Flybe.
The UK's busiest airport, Heathrow, was most punctually served in the first three months of the year by
Gulf Air,
Qatar Airways,
Cathay Pacific,
KLM and
Singapore Airlines.
