Air New Zealand has moved base at
Heathrow Airport and is now operating out of Terminal 1, according to reports.
The shift is part of an initiative by Star Alliance to have all of its members based at the same location at Heathrow Airport by 2012.
Originally scheduled for June 10th, the move was put back in order to ensure that it could be carried out with minimum disruption to passengers, TravelMole reports.
European general manager Scott Carr said this ambition was achieved, with the move going "exactly as planned" and no customers experiencing any inconvenience.
He added: "Our new home at T1 is an exciting move for us, and will enable our passengers to benefit from the transformations already underway in the terminal, including a simple, easy to use check-in which will reduce congestion and create quicker processing times, a refreshed arrivals area and immigration hall, and upgraded baggage system."
UK passengers can catch flights with Air New Zealand to
Auckland,
Hong Kong and
Shanghai, among other destinations.
