People travelling from
Newcastle Airport now have a new way to pass the time ahead of their flight following the opening of a new store at the hub.
The Alpha retail group opened the 1,000-metre-square tax- and duty-free Biza store on July 15th.
Arranged in a department store layout, the shop sells a range of items of various brands, including a selection of products that are exclusive to Biza in the travel retail market.
Customers can also make use of a home delivery service which means they do not have to travel with the items they have bought in the store.
Reg Curtis, UK managing director of the Alpha retail group, said: "We wanted people to feel that their holiday had already begun, as they browsed the store, discovering the expected, as well as the unexpected.
"Biza places Newcastle Airport at the cutting edge of travel retail innovation and gives the airport's travellers an exceptional experience that we believe will encourage them to make the store an essential destination on every journey they make."
Newcastle Airport hosts flights to destinations including
Venice,
Madrid,
Krakow and
Dublin.
