Fans of
culinary holidays may be tempted to pay a visit to
Australia in October this year to attend Oysterfest.
This event, which will take place in the southern town of Ceduna from October 2nd to 5th, is Australia's largest oyster festival.
Visitors will be able to sample oysters from Smoky Bay, Denial Bay and the Murat Bay foreshore at Ceduna.
Getting underway with a colourful opening ceremony on the first morning, the festival will feature music, dance, crafts and wine alongside the various gastronomic luxuries on offer.
Competitions held as part of Oysterfest will include the state Oyster Opening Championships and a range of other inclusive contests such as a donut-eating competition, gopher races and a tug of war.
From November 25th this year, visitors to Australia will have the opportunity to take part in the Southern Spirit rail experience, which will connect Darwin in the Northern Territory to
Sydney in the south-east.
