Using public transport to travel around
Dubai has been made more comfortable by the installation of 350 air-conditioned bus shelters in the city.
The cooled queuing areas are available at more than 250 busy locations around
Dubai, including Jumeirah, Deira, Al Wasl and Qusais.
Right Angle Media, the company that developed the world's first air-conditioned bus shelters, oversaw the initiative in cooperation with government groups including the road and transport authority.
Jim Davies, Right Angle Media's director of operations, said: "Our commitment to providing world-class public transport amenities for commuters and tourists alike remains on top of our agenda.
"We aim to make travelling in Dubai more convenient, safe and comfortable."
In addition to maintaining a temperature of 22 degrees C, the shelters provide protection from vehicle pollution and traffic noise.
Located on the Arabian peninsula and surrounded by desert, Dubai can get very hot at certain times of the year, although most indoor areas and hotels are air-conditioned.
The best time to visit for pleasant outdoor temperatures is between the end of September and the beginning of May.
