Visitors to
Tenerife will have a major new hotspot to visit from this week with the opening of Siam Park.
The Thai-themed attraction is reportedly Europe's biggest water park and is set to further boost the
Canary Island hotspot's popularity among holidaymakers.
One of the highlights of the park for adrenaline junkies will be the Tower of Power, which starts with an almost vertical drop during which riders reach speeds of up to 40km per hour before passing through an aquarium full of Mississippi alligators.
Other exciting highlights include the Dragon and the Mekong Rapids, while a more relaxing option is the world's longest Lazy River.
Holidaymakers can also visit the Wave Palace, which creates artificial swells of up to three metres in height, and the white-sand Siam Beach.
In a review of Siam Park, a reporter for the Times states that, in many respects, it tops a number of the major water parks in the
United States, including those at Disney World in
Orlando,
Florida.
