British Airways to launch new Caribbean flights
British Airways has announced that it will launch new flights to St Kitts and Nevis next year, a move which it claims is indicative of its commitment to the Caribbean.
The weekly service will get underway from Gatwick Airport on January 10th.
British Airways claims to offer more flights to the Caribbean than any other carrier, as position that will be strengthened by the new service.
Adam Daniels, head of leisure sales, said: "This new route to St Kitts underlines our commitment both to the Caribbean and Gatwick and re-establishes a connection between the UK and the island.
"The introduction of St Kitts as a British Airways route means that we now operate to 11 destinations in the Caribbean. The region is performing extremely well for us. Our customers also tell us that they feel secure flying with an airline with an established heritage and longevity in the market in these turbulent times."
In other route news, British Airways confirmed that from spring next year it will boost its number of flights from Heathrow to Dubai to 20 per week and increase its services from Heathrow to Johannesburg to 19 per week.
The airline also plans to move its flights to Atlanta and Toulouse from Gatwick Airport to Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.
