The tourist office of
Germany is currently running a campaign in
Berlin that is designed to offer a "journey of discovery" for the UK Jewish community.
As part of the 'Discover Jewish Germany' campaign, a group of 20 Jewish community leaders from the
UK recently paid a visit to
Berlin on a trip organised by the national tourist office.
The tour, which also involved collaboration with
Lufthansa and Berlin Tourism, covered topics including Jewish revival in Berlin and visited the city centre and the Jewish Museum.
After also visiting the Holocaust Memorial and the Grunewald Memorial, the community leaders met with a number of prominent German Jewish personalities.
A film documenting the trip has been posted online on the
German National Tourist Office website.
Flights to Berlin from the UK are available with a number of airlines, including
British Airways,
Air Berlin and
bmi.
