Schiphol Airport in
Amsterdam was recently named the world's top international air travel hub at an American awards ceremony.
Readers of the magazine Executive Travel voted for their top travel gateways using criteria such as airport services, facilities and the solutions that are provided to customers.
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport's award was collected by representatives from the
Netherlands Tourism Board at a ceremony in
New York recently.
The airport's winter flight schedule, which came into operation on October 26th and will run until March 28th 2009, includes eight airlines that will provide services to the
United States.
KLM,
Continental Airlines,
Delta and
United Airlines are among the eight carriers that will collectively offer 32 flights a day from Amsterdam to 17 destinations in the US.
Schiphol Airport was recently named the best airport in Europe this year by British magazine Business Traveller.
