The tourist board of
Barbados has urged music fans to pay a visit to the island in January for its annual jazz festival.
Taking place for the 16th time in 2009, the Barbados Jazz Festival will run from January 12th to 18th and will bring a "vibrant energy" to the
Caribbean island, the tourist board claims.
One of the biggest performers set to appear at the festival is multi-million record-selling singer James Blunt, who will perform at the Sir Garfield Sobers complex on January 14th.
Other acts on the bill include the BBC Jazz Project, Harvey Mason and Diana Jarrett, who will be performing in picturesque settings such as the Sunbury Plantation House and Farley Hill national park.
In the past, the Barbados Jazz Festival has played host to some of the most popular artists in modern jazz, including Ray Charles, Erykah Badu, Luther Vandross and Roberta Flack.
More information on the event can be found on its
official website.
