British Airways prepares for Christmas exodus
British Airways has revealed that it is set to carry some 1.6 million travellers over the peak festive period from December 17th to January 4th.
A number of the airline's long-haul destinations are set to prove popular over Christmas, led by New York and closely followed by Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Dubai and Washington.
British Airways' leading short-haul locations over the festive period will be Paris, Geneva and Nice.
Friday, December 19th is set to be the airline's busiest day of the winter holiday season when it expects to carry some 105,000 passengers.
Terminal 5 will be at the centre of British Airways' Christmas operations, with some 7,500 flights set to take off and land at the Heathrow Airport facility, bringing the total number of travellers through the terminal to over 15 million.
The airline will serve at least 38,000 Christmas dinners on its flights over the coming weeks, plus 60,000 helpings of Christmas cake and 8,500 pieces of chocolate log.
