The UK chapter of the
Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) has signed up the luxury destination of Biras Creek as its 105th member.
Located on Virgin Gorda, the third largest of the
Virgin Islands, the resort comprises 31 suites spread out across 140 acres of land.
The UK chapter of the CTO now includes 33 hotel representation companies, ranging from large brands and
luxury hotels to all-inclusive options for
family holidays.
Julia Hendry, the CTO's director of marketing for the
UK and
Europe, said that members of the organisation benefit from the opportunity to pool their resources and launch joint marketing campaigns.
She added: "We have just launched a 'million homes' campaign with a full-colour 24-page Caribbean brochure, distributed in the national press. Projects such as this would be impossible for most of our destinations, but working together we can really raise the profile of the region.
"We are seeing more members participating in our calendar of events, whether it be networking, training and workshops or utilising our website for special offers."
As the official tourism agency for the Caribbean, the CTO provides information on destinations to visit, places to stay and things to do in destinations including the
Bahamas,
Barbados and
Jamaica.
