Head to Manchester for the International Festival
Flights to Manchester will prove popular with culture vultures from all over Europe and the world in July as the city hosts the Manchester International Festival.
The festival, which will be held at various venues around the city from July 2nd to 19th, bills itself as the world's first showcase of completely original and new artistic creations.
Music fans will be arranging city breaks in Manchester to see artists including Elbow, who will perform with the Halle Orchestra at Bridgewater Hall on July 8th and 9th, and Kraftwerk, who will appear at the Velodrome on July 2nd.
Other highlights will include an appearance by the renowned ballet dancer Carlos Acosta at the Lowry from July 9th to 11th and the Festival Feast, which will help bring proceedings to an indulgent close on July 18th.
The Manchester International Festival will be held for the second time this year after being founded in 2007, when it featured events including gigs by Lou Reed, the Happy Mondays and Kanye West.
Manchester Airport is served by airlines including Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, KLM and Aer Lingus, which connect the airport to destinations across Europe, the USA, Asia, Ireland and other regions.
