Canada promotes aquatic attractions

Travellers planning to visit Canada this year have been encouraged to take advantage of the unique experiences on offer at some of the country's aquatic attractions.

Arguably the most famous body of water in Canada is Niagara Falls, which can be reached on excursions from either Toronto or New York.

The Canadian Tourism Commission described the waterfall system as "mind blowing" and encouraged visitors to take a trip on the Maid of the Mist, the famous boat that offers tours of Niagara Falls.

Those planning to head further west can visit Vancouver during the summer months, when the small town of Tofino on Vancouver Island becomes a surfing and watersports hotspot, attracting visitors from all over the world.

There are countless other stretches of water to explore in Canada, including Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park and Waterton Lake in the province of Alberta, which stretches all the way to the US border.

Flights to Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and other major Canadian cities are available with carriers including Air Canada, British Airways and KLM.
