Aer Lingus to increase flights to Shannon
Aer Lingus has announced that it will launch an extra service on its route linking London Heathrow to Shannon for the 2009-10 winter season.
The airline will operate three scheduled daily flights from Heathrow Airport to the destination in west Ireland from October 25th.
Complementing the existing morning and evening services, the new flight to Shannon will bring Aer Lingus' total number of weekly round trips between Ireland and London Heathrow to 158.
Enda Corneille, the carrier's corporate affairs director, said: "The increased frequency will connect Shannon and London Heathrow three times daily, which will further strengthen business, leisure and connecting traffic between the west of Ireland and Europe's largest international airport.
"This development reflects the growth and strong traffic volumes that we have seen since the resumption of the service last March. We are very encouraged with customer demand for our low-fares, high-quality service."
Gatwick Airport will also host extra services operated by Aer Lingus this winter when the airline launches new flights to Tenerife, Lanzarote, Bucharest, Eindhoven, Warsaw and Vilnius.
