Icelandair resumes Glasgow Airport to Reykjavik flights
Icelandair will today (August 27th) reinstate its schedule of flights to Reykjavik from Glasgow Airport.
The flights will operate on a 'triangle' route, with the return service from Reykjavik stopping off at Manchester Airport before completing its journey in Glasgow.
Travellers will be able to catch flights to Reykjavik on Thursdays and Sundays up to September 25th, at which time the schedule will be extended to four weekly services departing on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Icelandair will also provide the option of catching connecting flights to New York, Seattle, Boston and other destinations in North America via its hub in Iceland.
Hjorvar Saeberg Hognason, the airline's general manager in the UK, said: "Passengers will enjoy the same warm Icelandic hospitality that they have come to expect, plus experience our new leather seats, interactive entertainment systems and three classes of cabin service."
Amanda McMillan, managing director of the Scottish hub, added: "We are delighted to welcome Icelandair back to Glasgow Airport, with a new schedule that not only offers convenient city breaks to Reykjavik, but also provides improved connections to the United States."
The airport also hosts flights to Dubai, Paris, Copenhagen and other destinations, provided by carriers including Emirates, easyJet and bmi.
