Emirates to cut journey time on Glasgow to Sydney flights
Emirates has announced a forthcoming change to its schedules that will reduce the journey time for people catching flights from Glasgow Airport to Sydney.
On December 1st, the airline will launch new daily flights to Sydney from Dubai that will put the Australian city less than a day's travel away for people coming from the UK.
The service from Dubai will depart 75 minutes after the arrival of the incoming flight from Glasgow Airport.
Overall travel time from Glasgow to Sydney will be 22 hours and 25 minutes, having previously been over 30 hours, Emirates revealed.
Laurie Berryman, the airline's manager in the northern UK, said: "Australia is a key destination for both business and leisure passengers travelling with us from Scotland, and our new Sydney service makes flying Down Under quicker than ever before."
Emirates expanded its operations in Australia earlier this year with the launch of additional flights to Melbourne and Brisbane from Dubai.
The carrier also serves the city of Perth, as well as Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand.
