Winter season underway at Southampton Airport
Southampton Airport's winter season is now underway, with services to 49 destinations in the UK, the Channel Islands and Europe available from the base.
People looking for some winter sun will be able to access several destinations from Southampton over the coming months, with flights to Malaga, Alicante and Bergerac all operating this winter.
Those planning skiing holidays can reach popular resorts in Austria, France and Switzerland from the south coast, with Flybe offering flights to Salzburg, Chambery and Geneva.
The regional carrier has also introduced a year-round service to Avignon following strong demand, with two weekly flights to the destination available during the winter.
Kevin Brown, managing director of Southampton Airport, said: "The launch of more new routes this year is fantastic news for the region's travellers.
"There are now 49 destinations on offer from Southampton travelling throughout the UK, Channel Islands and Europe. So whether you're looking for business flights, a city break or to sample the ski slopes, there really is something for everyone."
Eastern Airways also expanded the route network from Southampton Airport recently with the launch of new flights to Durham Tees Valley in the north-east.
