Holidaymakers 'don't have to break the bank' in Dubai
People travelling on flights to Dubai should not be put off by the emirate's status as a premium destination.
This is according to Ian Scott, director of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in the UK and Ireland, who explained that it is possible to have an affordable break in Dubai despite is pricy reputation.
"We are talking a lot more about affordability because we know that people are being cautious about their spending and it is important to say to them, 'you can go to Dubai and you don't have to break the bank whilst you're there'," he commented.
Mr Scott went on to say that, while the number of new developments in the emirate are beginning to slow, its metro system will be fully operational by March, while the new Armani hotel is expected to open at roughly the same time.
Figures from the DTCM show that the UK and Ireland represent Dubai's biggest tourim market, with the two countries providing over 854,000 visitors last year - a 14 per cent increase from 2007.
