Fortune magazine lists world's most admired airlines
Fortune magazine recently released its list of the world's most admired companies, which included a section covering airlines that have managed to boost their reputations in the past year.
Singapore Airlines topped the list, ahead of Continental Airlines and Delta.
The top ten also included the Lufthansa group, Cathay Pacific, British Airways and Qantas.
Continental was ranked top for people management and took first place in the list of US carriers for the ninth consecutive year, an achievement that was celebrated by chairman and chief executive officer Jeff Smisek.
He said: "Continental's working-together culture helps us deliver our industry-leading service and outstanding product.
"I'm proud and honoured to see my co-workers' hard work recognised."
Fortune's list of the world's most admired companies across all industries was topped by Apple, with Google in second position and Berkshire Hathaway ranked third.
Walt Disney took top place in the entertainment section, while BMW was named the most admired brand in the motor vehicles industry.
