Paris festival to celebrate jazz
Music fans will soon be booking flights to Paris and arranging accommodation in the city ahead of this year's Saint-Germain-des-Pres Jazz Festival.
The 2010 edition of the event will be a particularly special one, as it will be celebrating its tenth anniversary.
A number of artists have already been confirmed, including keyboard player Jean-Pierre Como and French accordionist Richard Galliano.
Other performers including Yaron Herman, Diane Tell, Murat Ozturk and Terez Montcalm will also be gathering in France's capital city to take part in the festival, which will showcase various forms of jazz along with related genres such as blues and boogie-woogie.
The Saint-Germain-des-Pres area of Paris is famous for a historic church that dates back to the sixth century AD, as well as its associations with intellectuals and writers such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir and Ernest Hemingway.
Several carriers operate flights to Paris from the UK, including Flybe, Air France and bmi.
