Fort Lauderdale in Florida is now cashing in on the wedding market

A popular holiday destination, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, has taken the initiative by cashing in on the wedding market with a host of new high class hotels located along the beach front. Only a short drive to the iconic city of Miami, Fort Lauderdale is already popular for many American brides, but with an increasing number of British couples looking to tie the knot in foreign climes it may well provide the perfect location for such an event.

With a number of new facilities, including the Westin, Ritz Carlton and W hotels providing a wide variety of wedding locations, Fort Lauderdale has been expanding its horizons in the wedding industry for some time. Ballroom and party venues, in addition to beautiful beaches, glistening waterways and a range of restaurants have all provided individuals with instant access to everything their wedding may need, with the added attraction of the famed Florida climate, not to mention Miami being only a short drive away. Meanwhile the editor of Destination Weddings and Honeymoons magazine, Susan Moynihan, revealed that low cost airfares encouraged trips to the city, while a large cruise port offered couples an ideal honeymoon option.

With a range of airlines providing flights from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick the city can be easily accessed too. Meanwhile with Delta, American Airlines, Lufthansa and other airlines currently offering flights to Florida's sunny climes, Fort Lauderdale's wedding industry may be exactly what British couples are looking for.
