It has been revealed that the popular holiday destination of Prague could soon see a surge of cycling enthusiasts, now that the city's first bicycle enthusiast hub has been opened. While the Czech capital may not be as well-known for cycling as Berlin or Amsterdam, the opening of Bike Asylum could prompt travellers to consider Prague as an ideal destination in which to see the sights on bike.

Prague has become increasingly popular over the past few years as Brits seek new and exciting European locations to visit. Offering Eastern European charm, fantastic architecture, and traditional culture and history, it remains a much-visited city. For those who may want to experience the bustling streets on bike, Bike Asylum, opened by local cycling enthusiast Martin Kontra, offers travellers with a social bike repair location for all their cycling needs. Offering repairs, rental service, and maintenance workshops, the location is neatly packed underneath the Palacky Bridge, and also incorporates a small bar. The hub will offer cycling enthusiasts a place to gather, socialise, and offer advice to each other - it is the first of its kind in Prague.

Mr Kontra said of the hub: "Many visitors come for one or two beers and to meet their friends". As those who have visited Les Lanternes Rouges in Berlin know, such a cycle hub is a huge lure for those who like to meander the streets on two wheels.

Flights to Prague are easily accessible, with a range of airlines such as easyJet flying from British locations, including Manchester. Following the opening of the new cycling hub, the Czech capital city could soon become a big hit on the biking circuit.
