UK airline Monarch are to bring forward the introduction of flights to a number of key European destinations

It has been revealed that, such is the demand for flights, UK charter airline Monarch is to bring forward the planned introduction of flights to a number of key European destinations. The airline who recently announced new flights to Paphos from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, revealed the original 4th May start dates for maiden flights would be brought forward to April.

Noting huge demand for their range of flights to popular European locations in Cyprus, Portugal, and Spain, Monarch announced that they were to increase the number of seats available. With winter snow perhaps persuading many to seek warmer climes, and the Easter weekend break coinciding closely with the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday on the 29th April, an extra 31,000 seats are to be made available. All additional flights will operate from Manchester and London Gatwick, offering extra services to Larnaca, Malaga, Faro, Majorca, Alicante, Lanzarote, and Tenerife.

Talking of the rising demand and the resulting implementation of new flights, managing director of Monarch Airlines, Kevin George, explained "We have been astonished by the soaring demand for Monarch flights in April, which we believe is being driven by the proximity of Easter to the additional bank holiday." He added that with a 49 per cent increase in bookings already being seen, extra flights would offer travellers low fares and fantastic service over the Easter holiday period.  So for those not wanting to stay in the country for the royal wedding, a trip to Europe's Mediterranean could be a welcome spring break.
