Family Hotspot Poll has Italy's Florence as an Ideal Holiday Destination

It has been reported by travel experts that the beautiful city of Florence has been tipped as a top family hotspot in a consumer survey. With many British travellers currently thinking of booking their Easter and summer breaks, Italy could be the ideal European destination.

With a multitude of flights in and out of Italy, the nation is greatly loved by the British public. However, Florence's popularity in particular has shone through in a new survey asking individuals which was the most family orientated city in Europe. Beating the likes of both Edinburgh and London, Florence came top of the Travellers Choice Family Awards.  The results revealed that the city in Tuscany is the most sought after family getaway destination.

Whilst Florence topped the poll other popular cities including Barcelona and Paris were mentioned in the top results, as were Budapest and Istanbul, showing just how important the emerging tourist market in Turkey is. Talking of the interesting results of the survey, spokesperson for the survey, Emma Boyle, revealed that whilst foreign shores remain popular destinations to holiday in, British based locations are also seeing increased demand. "These awards recognise the most family-friendly cities as decided by millions of travellers, and the UK should be proud to claim two of the European winners," Ms Boyle explained.

However, with Florence coming top, it is likely that demand for this cultural and beautiful Tuscan city will rise in 2011. And for those wanting Easter breaks and summer holidays, Italy could be perfect.
