Thailand and Burma Ideal for Relaxation
The beautiful coastline of Thailand is perfect for relaxation.
Thailand has always been a popular spot for many tourists, with thousands of people heading to the beautiful coastline near Phuket or Koh Samui to enjoy the ultimate relaxation. However, Burma has taken the spotlight in recent years too, largely due to the release of democratic campaigner Aung San Suu Kyi. With a rich and exotic culture, Burma is set to be a popular holiday destination for 2012.
Thailand is largely expected to note continued popularity over the coming months and years due to its affordability. The Post Office has placed it only behind Mexico and Sri Lanka as the cheapest long haul retreat, making the country ideal for those on a budget.
Burma, meanwhile, is set to become a rising star. Its intrigue lures many, with its past military rule having made the country inaccessible for most. 30th December sees the release of The Lady, Luc Besson's biopic about Suu Kyi. It is a film that is set to stir even more interest in this country.
Talking of the country, which includes mysterious city Yangon, Yaow Butwisate-Lok, Far East product manager, said “The country is rich in history and culture yet relatively untouched by tourism. Now is definitely the time to visit, while you can still see the exquisite temples and other sites with very few others around.”
