21st January 2009 - Just the Flight survey reveals weak Pound impacts choice of travel destination in 2009

Over 40% of those who completed a recent online survey by leading UK online travel agent Just the Flight confirmed that the weak pound will have a significant impact on where people will choose to fly to in 2009.

Destinations outside the Euro zone including Turkey, Egypt, Croatia together with long haul destinations away from the US dollar namely Australia, New Zealand and Canada would all prove popular in 2009. The British Isles also featured prominently.

18% cited health or personal circumstances as the main reason for changing their 2009 travel plans. Terrorism and job insecurity also featured in the responses given.

A recent report published by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office suggested that instead of sacrificing their hard-earned holidays, an increasing number of Britons are travelling to destinations such as Egypt and Turkey. These destinations represent excellent value for money, with resorts such as Dalaman, Bodrum and Antalya in Turkey and Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt proving particularly popular.

It was interesting to note that 85% of those who responded to the Just the Flight survey intended to book the same or more flights than in 2008, and with many airlines reducing air fares, many travellers are finding that flights are becoming more affordable in 2009.

18th November 2008 - Online Regional Travel Group Ltd (ORTG) who launched the Worlds first global flight booking engine for the mobile in August 2008 scoops a major Technology award in the recent Isle of Man Awards for Excellence.

More than one hundred entrants chosen by the Manx public were then whittled down to three finalists and an overall winner in each of 16 categories ranging from small business to volunteer of the year.

More than 600 guests, including winners, finalists and sponsors, dusted off their finery and converged on five banqueting venues to fortify themselves for the evening's excitement on Thursday 13th November 2008.

ORTG who own and operate the hugely successful travel portal www.justtheflight.co.uk and now www.justtheflight.co.uk/mobile is delighted to once again be recognised for its continued innovation and investment in leading edge travel technology. This follows on from their recent success in association with Guava who won a top award in the search engine optimisation category at the 2008 Mobile Search Awards.

ORTG were a finalist in the "Effective use of Technology" category and CEO Brian Kelly accepted the award on behalf of the company which operates from its head-quarters in the Isle of Man. The group also has a significant Channel Island presence employing 50 people at Wayfarers World Travel in Guernsey and Bellingham Travel in Jersey.

Just the Flight is proud to announce the launch of a new flight and travel news service, updated throughout the day. Just the Flight RSS-XML feed. They are the first OTA (online travel agent) in the UK to offer RSS feeds of charter flights, which cover over 30 destinations from 27 UK airports.

Website users can subscribe to the charter flights RSS feed from a specific UK airport, and can receive a data of the lowest priced flight deals to worldwide holiday destinations direct to their desktops.
