New luxury hotels to open in Rhodes
The tourist board of Rhodes has announced that the Greek island will continue to move away from its "party image" next year with the opening of a number of new luxury hotels.
New establishments set to open in 2009 include the Atrium Prestige Thalasso spa resort in Kalathos, the Elysium resort in Kallithea and the luxury complex of La Marquise close to Kallithea Springs.
The five-star Atrium Prestige will be the second hotel to be opened in Rhodes by the Atrium group, offering views over the Aegean Sea from its location on Kalathos Beach.
Scheduled to begin welcoming visitors in the spring, the hotel will comprise 254 guestrooms and boast six restaurants serving a range of different foods.
The Thalasso spa centre will provide a range of health and treatment services and offer leisure facilities including outdoor and indoor swimming pools, watersports and tennis courts.
Due to open in April 2009, the Elysium resort and spa will comprise 332 guestrooms, all but nine of which will offer ocean views from the establishment's beachfront location.
La Marquise is set to open in May next year and will boast leisure facilities including a lagoon-style outdoor swimming pool, courts for playing tennis and squash and a fitness suite.
