New flights to Rhodes set to boost tourism industry

The Rhodes Tourism Promotion Organisation has revealed that the Greek island is currently preparing for a "busy summer", with new flights being launched from the UK and a number of hotels set to begin welcoming visitors.

EasyJet is set to introduce flights to Rhodes from Liverpool Airport for the summer season.

The new service will get underway on June 12th and will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays until October.

Upon arrival on the island, holidaymakers will be offered a number of new accommodation options this year, including the first Sheraton-branded property in Greece.

The Sheraton Rhodes Resort will officially open on May 1st and will offer a choice of 401 rooms with mountain, sea and garden views.

Guests will be provided with access to amenities including a full-service spa, fitness facilities, two restaurants and a private beach.

Other properties set to open on the island next month include the five-star Aquagrand hotel in Navarone Bay and La Marquise on the outskirts of Rhodes' old town area.
