Travellers on Flights From Edinburgh Airport to Benefit from Huge Hotel
It has been revealed that a huge new hotel complex is set to be built next to Edinburgh airport, offering travellers flying in and out of the airport the opportunity to get a good night's rest during their stay. Plans for the new four-star hotel with 168 rooms were announced just as BAA expressed that any additional hotel rooms added to the city would be "welcomed".
Currently under supplied with hotel and guest accommodation, Edinburgh's focus as a central international travel hub has previously been stunted by the lack of facilities for travellers. With routes flying to cities such as Cork and Oslo, and destinations further afield including Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, the city remains on both the business and tourist hotspot map. Whilst BAA revealed that facilities remained "under-served" in Edinburgh, news of proposed developments could serve the area significantly.
Proposed by Vinanian Developments, the new hotel promises to offer travellers with new bedrooms, corporate suites and ballroom facilities. In addition, a new restaurant and leisure services will respond "to the increasing demand for quality bedrooms and business services close to Edinburgh Airport," according to architects Young and Gault.
While no brand has currently been revealed for the new hotel, the news will be welcomed to individuals who often travel through Edinburgh and have difficultly finding accommodation. As the city of Edinburgh remains a hot tourist destination, both the hotel and airport are likely to fare well from the development.
