Greek Islands Ideal for Family Getaway
Whilst Greece may have noted a fall in tourism during its high profiled economic problems the nation is once again back in favour as a holiday destination. And for British families wanting to get away this year, there is no better location than some of the Greek islands.
With more than 6,000 islands off the Aegean and Ionian coasts there are plenty of holiday spots to choose from. Whilst not all of these islands are inhabited, many have been turned into holiday havens, with beaches, entertainment and resorts offering the ideal getaway for families.
There are many great connections from Athens, both by sea and air, which offer prime routes to top islands. Zante is a holiday favourite, and whilst it is often known as clubbing capital, there is also a lot to entice families too. With a stunning coastline there are plenty of spots to enjoy, whether individuals are looking for lively beach life or somewhere a little more secluded.
Meanwhile, the largest of Greece's islands, Crete is another great destination. Malia is one of the island's main resorts whilst Chania is also popular. However, for families wanting somewhere a little less lively, places such as Stalis and Sissi are ideal. And with a great mix of both bustling and secluded spots, Greece is once again a top family holiday spot.
