Three Ideal Winter Sun Hotspots for British Travellers

Fuerteventura

Though this year's British winter hasn't been bitterly cold, many people will still be looking to get away and enjoy a little winter sun. There are a number of great spots around the world, but holidaymakers don't have to necessarily travel far to enjoy a balmy climate.

Canary Islands

In 2011, the Canary Islands were very popular with British individuals, and there can be no better winter escape. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are all ideal getaways and offer an average temperature of 18°C. Whilst Tenerife has the widest range of attractions, Fuerteventura is the driest and offers the best beaches.

Cyprus

Cyprus has some great spots to visit, including Ayia Napa, Limassol and Paphos; the latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Temperatures in the winter are in the lower twenties, offering perfect conditions to sunbathe without being fried. With plenty to see and do, getaways can be filled with fun and culture.

Turkey

Over the past few years, Turkey has noted a huge increase in British holiday interest. Temperatures range from the late teens to the lower twenties, making the climate perfect for winter getaways. With stunning destinations such as Kas, Akyaka and Marmaris offering the ideal resorts, there is much to attract British tourists in winter 2012.
