Held in June each year, the Columbus Arts Festival is an exciting way to celebrate the beginning of summer.
The Columbus Arts Festival is formed by the Greater Columbus Arts Council and presented by Time Warner Cable. It has been running for more than four decades.
The Columbus Arts Festival is an event that combines craftspeople and the finest artists from all over the country with a range of continuous entertainment including musical, poetry, and community performances, and art activities. In addition to this, there is glorious food on offer from many local restaurants including delicacies such as crab cakes, beignets, and fish and chips. AmericanStyle magazine rated the festival as a top festival within the nation.
Visitors take pleasure in live performances by many different musical cultures from jazz to pop and country to world music. In case all of this entertainment is not enough to satisfy attendees, there are also street performers who entertain Festival-goers of all ages with live acts.
The atmosphere of the Festival is intensified through the lighting design and dramatized by standing cabaret tables. There is also landscaping in the form of plant and flower placement through the Discovery District. Situated just east of downtown, the Discovery District is home to the city's great attractions such as the Columbus Museum of Art, the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Thurber House, and the Columbus College of Art and Design, as well as many more great cultural institutions.
