George, South Africa is located in the Western Cape and is popular for holidays and conferences. This destination is the commercial hub for the Garden Route which begins in George. The Garden Route is known for the events taking place along it throughout the year, such as the Vodashop George Cheese Festival.

The Vodashop George Cheese Festival is an annual event for food and wine. There are three days of celebration with wine, cheese, food, fun, and music held under one roof along the Garden Route. R55 will provide you entrance into the event and the music is free. The entrance fee is mostly for the 77 cheeses, wines, and other foods.

Exhibitors display their goods at booths inside and outside. Nine restaurants, coffee bar, full bar, and smoking lounge are a part of the event space. For those interested in learning how to pair wine and cheese, there are sessions held at a few of the stalls. Other sessions include Brandy tasting and Belgian Chocolate pairings. A food theatre provides cooking demonstrations with notable South African chefs. Children are allowed into the event, as long as they are supervised. Children 10 and up can enjoy the outside play park.

Vodashop is one of the annual events held on the Garden Route that is also a family optional festival. With three days of fun in mid-summer, guests can attend the event one day and explore George, South Africa on the other days of their holiday.
