Orlando's Festival Calendar Blooms in the Spring

SFB, OrlandoThe theme parks are only part of what this beautiful city in Florida has to offer.

Featuring everything from a thriving citrus fruit industry to the number one tourist attraction in the world, Orlando, Florida is the perfect getaway destination for just about anyone needing a break, but particularly for families. Along with an abundance of theme parks that include SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios and, of course, Walt Disney World, Orlando also hosts some great festivals and events. Orlando Sanford International Airport services flights from all over the world as people come to help the city celebrate the dozens of annual local festivals.

March is an active month as festivals such as the Kissimmee Blue Grass Festival, the St. Patrick’s Day Party and the Florida Film Festival kick off the month. Visitors can also take part in the Winter Park Sidewalk Arts Festival; this prestigious event attracts more than 1,600 artists from around the world every year.

For kids, nothing is more exciting than marshmallows falling from the sky as Orlando puts on their annual Marshmallow Drop near the beginning of April. April is also the month when the bigger kids can take part in the annual Rajuncajun Crawfish Festival, which takes place at the Isle of Pines at South Beach Park. This event is based on traditional Louisiana festivals and features food, dancing and music. Orlando also has their version of Mardi Gras with the Orlando Carnival as well as a Cinco De Mayo Bash, a Seafood Alaska Festival as well as an enormous International Fringe Festival.
