Cheap Flights to Springfield (SGF) from UK Airports

Springfield is the venue for one of the US's newest music festivals.

Springfield, Missouri, is the destination of choice for country and rock music fans for the Show Me Music and Arts Festival. June 2011 was the first outing for this new annual arts festival and already it is establishing itself as one of the big ones to attend in the Mid West. Being really close to the airport and with multiple flights landing at Springfield's airport, it is a great time to visit this under-appreciated part of the US.

Taking place over three days, the event has already attracted some A-list acts to the roster, including rock legends REO Speedwagon; Tim McGraw, the triple Grammy-winning country musician; Trace Adkins, one of country music's biggest stars; and Kellie Pickler, American Idol finalist.

The headline acts are joined by a huge number of other artists over the three days, with genres ranging from indie to bluegrass.

The festival is not just about music and there is plenty of other activities to the crowds who make this their weekend destination. There are big name comedians playing on the comedy stage, live cooking demonstrations from Food Network chefs in the Food Network Pavilion, and a whole host of kid’s activities to keep the younger generation amused.

With well-planned camping facilities that include the rarity of hot showers, this festival looks set to become a fixture on the international festival calendar.
