Experience Black Bears in Minnesota
Travelers flying to Minneapolis this summer looking for a different holiday experience might consider visiting The Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary in Orr, Northern Minnesota.
The Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary, run by the American Bear Association, and described as the best place to see black bears in their natural environment. Around 80+ black bears visit the sanctuary each season, including large boars, sows with cubs, yearlings and sub-adults.
The VSWS offers a unique educational opportunity to its thousands of visitors each year, who observe the bears feeding, playing and interacting in the surrounding meadow and woods, from the bear viewing platform.
Those looking for a truly unforgettable experience can become a wildlife volunteer at the bear sanctuary, working outdoors among large wild black bears. Students attending a University can also take a summer internship
The Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary is open from May 26th to September 3rd 2007, from 5pm to dusk.
