Egyptair introduces new aircraft on London - Cairo route
Egyptair has recently taken delivery of the first two of seven Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with the remainder due for delivery by the second quarter of 2011.
The introduction of the 777s is part of the carrier's commitment to upgrading its longhaul product to exceed customer expectations. The first aircraft went into service on the airline's London Heathrow to Cairo route on 15th March. The second is being deployed on flights between Cairo and Tokyo.
Accommodating 346 passengers, the new aircraft will seat 297 in the economy class cabin, with a further 49 seats in business class. The economy class seats are wider than before, and each have individual seat back entertainment screens offering a wide choice of inflight entertainment. The business class seats, which turn into fully flat beds, each have 15 inch personal screens and dedicated power outlets.
Egyptair currently offers eight flights to Cairo from Heathrow each week, seven of which are operated by the Boeing 777-300ER. The airline also offers one weekly flight to Luxor from the London airport.
