Emirates Airline launches Basra flights
Emirates Airline has commenced a new route from Dubai to Basra. Iraq’s second city has become the airline’s 110th international destination.
The new flights operate four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday and Saturdays, using an Airbus A330 aircraft with First, Business and Economy class cabins (First is not offered on the Monday flights).
The flights depart Dubai at 1345 hrs, arriving in Basra at 1445 hrs. The inbound flights leave Basra at 1615 hrs, reaching Dubai at 1910 hrs. The new flights offer seamless connections to key destinations throughout Europe and the United States. “Our convenient flight times and good connections make Emirates an excellent choice for corporate travellers to Basra,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group.
Demand for travel to Basra has grown in recent years, particularly due to its proximity to oil fields and the Gulf.
Emirates offer flights to Dubai from six airports in the UK: Gatwick, Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow.
