Atlantic Airways to recommence Faroe Islands flights from London
Atlantic Airways has announced that it will again operate flights between London and the Faroe Islands this summer. This follows their success on the route last year, with over 3,200 passengers using the direct service.
Between 2nd June and 29th August, the Faroese airline will offer two return services per week between London Stansted and Vagar Airport. The flights, on Mondays and Thursdays, will depart the Faroes at 0900 hrs, arriving at Stansted at 1115 hrs, with the return flight leaving Stansted at 1200 hrs and arriving at Vagar at 1415 hrs.
Interest in the Faroe Islands, which are an autonomous province of Denmark, has grown in recent years: the Islands were named the world's favourite unspoiled islands by National Geographic Traveler Magazine in 2007. The archipelago has also featured on the BBC 'Coast' programme.
The airline's CEO, Magni Arge, remarked "As the experts say, the Faroe Islands tick all the boxes for the modern traveller looking for unspoiled natural beauty, a healthy environment and room to breathe the fresh air of our wide open spaces."
Atlantic Airways will also operate flights from London during the Easter period, on 16th, 20th and 24th April.
