Ukraine International Extends Network
Ukraine International Airlines is introducing a number of new destinations to its network this summer. This will provide greater choice for passengers travelling to Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia.
The carrier commenced thrice-weekly services from its Kiev base to the Kazakh capital Astana on 25th April, while the existing service to Almaty will increase to five flights weekly.
18th May saw the launch of a four times per week service from Kiev to Samara, one of the largest cities in Russia. Plans also exist to add services to Moscow.
UIA is also expanding its domestic routes within Ukraine, with services to Dnepropetrovsk operating daily except Saturday. Flights to the port city of Odessa and Simferopol, capital of the Crimea region, have also been reintroduced. Flights to the western city of Lvov are to be relaunched from 10th June, with 12 flights per week from Kiev. Lvov airport is undergoing significant reconstruction in preparation for the Euro 2012 football competition.
The new routes all connect with UIA's daily flights to Kiev from London, as well as other European cities such as Madrid, Helsinki and Brussels.
