British Airways (BA) is to launch a new service from London Heathrow to Turkey.
As from March 26th, BA's franchise partner BMED will fly non-stop to Ankara, the only London-based airline to do so.
The route will initially operate six flights a week, rising to seven by July.
"The introduction of Ankara recognises the growing importance of Turkey as the country moves towards membership of the European Union, with all the implications this has for trade, commerce and closer cultural ties with the UK and other EU states," said chief executive David Richardson.
Return tickets will be offered from £99 including taxes.
The new destination is BMED's 16th route in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
