More famous for its beach that its Bach, the city of Miami is to host a series of concerts over 12 days to celebrate music from the 1800s and before.
The Old Music in the New World festival, hosted by the Miami Bach Society, will include a series of concerts that focus on Latin American music.
Bands from around the world, including France and Bolivia, will be accompanied by a lecture on the subject during the series.
Students under the age of 21 can watch free of charge and while festival passes range in price from $200 to $500, one performance can cost as little as $25.
In addition to the concerts, which start on the March 8th, visitors to the city can explore its famous beaches such as the Art Deco nightclub district in South Beach.
Over 85.8 million people visited the city last year according to official figures, up six million on 2004 as people swarm to visit the state's attractions.
Concerts are spread out from late afternoon to early evening from next week, allowing tourists to appreciate the other attractions that Miami has to offer.
